Meet The Owner
The Job Hog Construction was built from the ground up—driven by hard work, determination, and an unwavering commitment to learning.
It all started when I was 18 years old. In high school, I worked at a grocery store for two years, quickly rising through the ranks with multiple promotions.
But there was one problem—I never saw a pay increase. I was taking on more responsibilities without fair compensation, and I knew I deserved better.
Through my time as a head cashier, I built relationships with customers, including a couple who owned a painting company.
One day, while venting my frustrations about my stagnant job, they offered me a position. Without hesitation, I put in my two weeks’ notice and took the opportunity.
Within three months, I became the lead foreman, managing a crew of over ten people. I leveraged my customer service skills from the grocery store to communicate effectively with clients and ensure jobs were done right.
Unfortunately, the company shut down due to poor ownership decisions. At the time, I was living off the $150 a week I made at the grocery store, so when the paint company paid me $400 a week, I felt like I had struck gold. But when the business folded, I was left with a decision—go back to working for someone else or take a leap of faith.
That’s when my older sister gave me the best advice I could have received:
So, I took what little savings I had and got to work. I started by creating homemade flyers using PowerPoint, printing them on copy paper, and cutting them out by hand. I went door to door in cookie-cutter subdivisions, passing out 500+ flyers a day. I quickly figured out that for every 500 flyers, I would land at least one job.
At first, I only did sheetrock and painting. But as clients talked about other renovations they needed—tile work, flooring, and more—I didn’t want to lose the opportunity. So, I told them I could do the job, then went home, researched, and taught myself how to do it.
Every mistake became a lesson. Every challenge became a stepping stone. Through trial, error, and sheer determination, I built the skills that would ultimately shape The Job Hog Construction into what it is today.
For the past 17 years, I have repeated this process—learning, adapting, and refining my craft. Today, The Job Hog Construction isn’t just a company; it’s a testament to resilience, problem-solving, and a relentless commitment to excellence.
